OK, I admit I'm feeling a little light hearted. Our daughter was married this past weekend. We had a wonderful time at the wedding and for all appearances the happy couple are still enjoying being married.
One of the things that happened during the "dress the bride" portion of the "getting ready for the wedding" last hours was the discovery that the bouquets were held together by rubber bands. Being the Mom of the Bride didn't stop me from also being a home stager who is simply ALWAYS thinking about the business of home staging. After admiring the lovely flowers and discovering the "secret" about how they were all held together -- rubber bands I began to think of several ways I use rubber bands to perform my job.
Here are five of them:
1. Hold the page in my planner (this works for all books)
2. We place a band so that it is centered on the open top of a paint can and goes down the sides to wrap around the bottom. This is perfect for tapping the paint brush against the band and not getting paint all gooped up in the rim of the paint can.
3. A fat rubber band placed around the lid, grasped firmly and twisted like you mean it on a stubborn bottle (like Liquid Nails) will help loosen it for opening.
4. Wrapped around the end of my sun visor a couple of rubber bands hold my various receipts for the day until I get back to the office to put them in the pile of items to be filed. (Or on my good days are actually entered and filed in a timely manner.)
5. Hold fabric, linens, draperies, ribbons and any number of other staging items where I want them to stay. Some times these rubber bands are supplemented with straight pins, safety pins, ribbon, wire, and or whatever it takes to get the effect desired.
You knew I would have to do it. I'm throwing in number 6. On a few occasions I've used a rubber band to get my hair out of my eyes and off my face so I can finish the task at hand. Yeah, I know, I know rubber bands are not good for your hair. But, they are good for holding things (even your hair in a pinch.)

Yvonne, I think you might think as a home stager a little too much. haha I am happy the wedding went so nicely! Congratulations on adding another home staging furniture mover to the family
