Upcoming version of Home Inspector Pro, Looking for input

Hi Guys,

We have a new version coming out of Home Inspector Pro next week and I wanted to show you some of the new features, and get your feedback. What do you like about the report? What would you like to see?

One of the upcoming features is the bookmarks added to the left of the report shown when you open up the report. These will not actually print on the report, and are purely to make it easier to navigate the report. It was added after a suggestion by Steven Turetsky who wanted better navigation. Steven, now you won't even need to scroll to the top of the page to click on the 'tabs' that another program uses. You can click on the bookmarks no matter where you are. I'm still working on getting the summary listed on the bookmarks.

Another feature added is not visible on the report, it's a bulk photo add button. With one click you can add all the photos in a folder to the report. Then you can easily remove the few photos you might now want. Adding 100 photos took about 30 seconds, setting them to the sections they belong to is extremely quick as well.

One thing not on this report that will be done by next week is the ability to change the font size, type & color of the section headings (bathroom, bedroom, etc). This has been requested by quite a few of our users such as Bob Elliot.

Dominic if you do not mind I would like to add that the check boxes are removable with a click as I do not use them.

Looking forward to the font control for headers though.

After that you can quit and take a rest. lol

Ahh yes, good point. I need a rest! I averaged less than 4 hours a night last week.

I'm almost done with the header control, just expanding it so you can customize each section in the report if you want to.

Man, you guys are a talkative bunch!!

Our new beta version has been released to a few dozen inspectors (Windows & Mac), including a few on this board. If you are interested in checking out the new features let me know here and I'll email you the link to the beta. This version will probably be released publically by the end of the week.

Major Features added into 2.5.2 (Yes, 2.5.0 was released 2 weeks ago, I've been busy!!!)

Major 2.5.2 Updates:
1. Ability to add photos (with progress monitor) in bulk added to Add Photos->Bulk Add Photos. Select a folder with all your photos and you're off!

2. Section title moved above the section document if one exists

3. Ability to edit the colors, font & size of each of the section title individually. Check out Report Settings-> Section Colors & Print Order. Click on the section name itself to edit the options.

4. Bookmarks added to the pdf to increase navigation or reports online. Really neat feature! Check out the sample report here:

5. Cover page title of "Property Inspection Report" is now customizable via Report Settings->Options.

Dominic, as a Home Inspector Pro user, I have to say thank you for working so hard to give us inspectors what we are looking for in the program. Since I have completed the template I will be using for my inspcetions, I have thoroughly enjoyed the ease in completing my inspection reports quickly, and my clients are impressed with the professional looking report. I can admit that I was considering another program, but after working Home Inspector Pro, I no longer have the urge to use another program. Home Inspector Pro offers me everything I was looking at in other programs. Thank you for your quick attention to my request, which made it easier to personalize the program to my liking.
