The 4th Annual Great Nashville Duck Race

The Great Nashville Duck Race is Monday September 19, raising money for the BoysGreat Nashville Duck Race and Girls Clubs of Middle Tennessee.

There will be 10,000 cute yellow ducks with numbers on their bottoms, dropped from the Korean War Veterans Memorial Bridge at 1pm. They will then race down the Cumberland River.

Everyone who adopts a duck will be entered into E-Quack. This is a program that can store all the information.Right before the race, the Duck Mix occurs, shuffling all the numbers and the entries, assigning tag numbers to each entry. All you have to do is stand on the banks and cheer!

All proceeds from the race will benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Middle Tennessee's After School Programs.

Adopt a Duck today! Ducks are only $5 each.

The winner of the race, the "lucky duck" WINS $10,000! There are lots of other prizes and a great kids zone.

Find a great place at Riverfront Park to watch the race!

It matters to us as much as it matters to you.

Sounds like some fun and a good excuse to get myself downtown (aside from the Titans game) today.

Mike - It's great fun but I'm not sure why they're doing it on Monday instead of the weekend!

Connie ~  That sounds like a lot of fun and it is for a good cause.  I have never been to one.  Sounds like it is a huge event.  I can't believe you could win that much money too just for entering in the race.  I am sure you will be taking pictures and report back.

What a fun idea! Will you take and post pictures? I'd love to see those little duckies bobbing along the river--must be quite a sight.

I've never heard of this, but what a cute idea!  I love ducks, and I'm sure this would be lots of fun. If only it was on the weekend instead of a busy Monday.

Hi Connie - 10,000 real ducks?  What happens to those that don't get adopted?

Conrad - I'm sure they just save them for next year! I'll bet they lose several every year too. How do you round up a bunch of ducks anyway?
