.) Call or email a local agent or company and ask them questions about their job. You may think this feels like the job-shadowing you may have done in your high school days—but most experts won’t mind in the slightest. They know their information and are passionate about what they do. Giving them the chance to talk about something they love would be a treat for most.
.) Look at your state’s laws about what all is involved in obtaining a license. For PA, you are required to complete two courses- Real Estate Practice and Real Estate Fundamentals, and then pass both the National and State portions of a licensing exam.
.) Look for opportunities to help out agents you may know. There are many tasks that individuals are able to do while they are in the process of getting their license. While this may not involve directly listing or selling property, it can give you a wonderful opportunity at getting to know some of the in’s and outs involved in this career.
.) Finally, EDUCATE YOURSELF! While TV shows can be great, nothing beats learning material for yourself. Surf online, grab a book, or join an organization that will help you in your steps towards becoming an agent.
If the Joy Daniels Real Estate Group could be of any assistance to you in with a real estate purchase or sale, please feel free to email us. We have each taken the above-mentioned courses in various formats (online and on-site) and would count it a privilege to help you out. Should you be beginning a career in Real Estate- Sit back, Relax, and Enjoy the ride! Have a GREAT day and God bless.
