Edgewater in Coeur d'Alene Idaho Last week I had an opportunity to participate in a fun evening of food and friends at the spectacular Spokane River home of Ron and Pam Nilsen in the lovely Edgewater community.

The event was a fundraiser for the Post Falls Chamber of Commerce. It was casual and laid back, what else do you expect when dinner is being cooked in a trash can!? The twenty four people who had the winning bids gathered to celebrate summer and the best of all that Coeur d'Alene and Post Falls have to offer.

I still marvel at this magnificent place I call home. It's as if I spend my days in a picture post card! It's just a bonus that my world contains so many wonderful people that I am honored to call friend.

To the best of my knowledge, I've never eaten something that was cooking in a trash can, but since I don't normally watch the cooks in a restaurant cooking the food, you just never know. I hope they don't get any ideas from reading your blog post. ♪♫♫♪

The views were gorgeous...and I bet dinner was yummy!!! My brother in law makes a barrel chicken that is actually more smoked than anything that we all love...so I am sure trash can cooking works too! LOL

What a fun night! I've never done a clam bake, but when I lived in Savannah, GA, we learned the art of the low country boil. Next time we do one, we'll have to borrow the trash can technique. You sure do live in a post card!
