Fall is such a wonderful time of year. The cool temperatures and longer nights make it more inviting to spend some time indoors. As I look forward to that, I also realized some of those summer chores such as cleaning out the garage and basement still need to be done. I have an incentive to do those this weekend.
Saturday, October 27 from 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM there is a scrap metal drive in Grandville. Proceeds from the collection will go to Calvin Christian Schools. Last year the school made $3,500. Small items can be dropped of at Calvin Christian High School at 3750 Ivanrest Ave SW. Larger items and full loads can be brought directly to a container located at 2359 Ivanrest SW. This is great way to get rid of unwanted metal as well as help out a community school. They are accepting junk cars, metal of all kinds, old appliances (with freon removed), grills, lawn furniture and the list goes on. What a great way to recycle.
Being in the real estate business, I was also thinking about those listings and sold homes that have ancient appliances and unused metal items. Perhaps you might pass this information about the scrap metal collection on to some of your clients.
Enjoy your weekend and I will enjoy cleaning my garage. Maybe I'll see you at the scrap metal bin.
