I made a typo in one of my craigslist ads the other day. The title should have been "Oh no, she didn't!" but it was 4:30 in the morning when I posted it and it said "Oh not, she didn't!" Honest mistake and a typo I make a lot. It was too early and I didn't catch it.
You see, I type very quickly, always have. I used to type prelims and policies for title companies and I clocked close to 100wpm in my youth. I had a few words that I routinely mistyped. "Calfiornia" and "coprotation" were the two worst. Now I turn "no" into "not" and other similar brain lapses. Last week I made the typo in the title of a craigslist ad. Kind of embarrassing.
On Thursday somebody took the time to respond to the ad:
Hey Knuckle Head ! ! ! Not ? You meant to say Oh No ! ! She didn't ... Drop the T... Get it ? Do you understand ? OH NO !!! SHE DIDN'T ...
Yeah, it ticked me off. Seriously dude, it was a typo. While I appreciated the heads up, was it necessary to call me names? I thought about writing the person back and kind of forgot about it until this morning when I posted my open house out on craigslist. Just for giggles I googled his email address. (As a side note, I don't have a lot of respect for anyone still using an aol.com email address. AOL was internet for dummies. It's relevance has passed.) Anyway, I google the email address and yep, it's an agent. Awesome. Clearly not someone smart enough to know that a simple google search can sort that out. Who would write something like that if they were in the business and knew it would come back to them? I went to the DRE website and punch in his name. Yep, a non-affiliated license set to expire next month.
Dude, I think I know why that real estate thing didn't work out for you, would you like a hint?
