If you could have a comprehensive book on one topic, what would you want it to be about? What would you want to know more about at this exact moment in your life and in your career. It doesn't matter if you are brand spanking, shiny new or you've been doing this since man lived in caves. There must be something that you wish you could find in a book that will tell you everything about it.

It would be titled, "The Ultimate Guide to..."

I agree, one book would be so easy. However, the more I read, the better I am. The best investment I have made for my business is that I belong to Buffini and Company. No other organization shows more care, concern or follow-up.  You will succeed, and I have, thanks to Brian Buffini.

Frances, I'm not sure I am understanding your answer. I am asking what information that you don't already have, or maybe do have but in bits and pieces, that you'd like to have. What do you want to know more about.

You are right, we should never stop learning. That's why I am asking this. I want to know what people want to know.

Richard, thanks for the comment. That's a great answer. One that I bet would take a very seasoned agent to answer. On the other hand, can anyone guarantee a smooth closing, lol. I suppose be prepared for anything and everything to happen would help. There must be a way to come up with every senario imaginable and a solution for them. Once you add the human element of buyers and sellers, all rules go out the window.

Interesting - I just (literally 3 hours ago) finished a new ebook that I've affectionately been calling "101 Ways to Sell Your Listing in a Sucky Market". Maybe I'll just call it "The Ultimate Guide to Selling Your Listings in a Sucky Market"

Lessee... "The Ultimate Guide to...Jennifer's Ultimate Health & Happiness" Not real estate related, but I'd love to read the book on ME. I just can't figure me out.

Sorry, not too helpful, but it's a great question!

Ah, Frances, now that I went away and came back, I understand your answer. See, I don't want to buy this book. I want to write it. And I don't want to write a series of books, I want to write the Ultimate Guide to... and this is part of my research.

I guess you could say to write what I know, but I'm finding that I know a little bit about everything and the topic would be too broad. I also don't know how to make a smooth closing every time and I don't know 101 ways to sell a listing in any market, lol. So those are out. Plus, Richard's writing the first and Jennifer already wrote the latter.

I can make it something simple like the Ultimate Guide to online seminars or something more complex like the Ultimate Guide to building a website that sells. Does anyone care about those things, is my question. Some of the best books are not out of someone's head books, they are the culmination of research and finding everything there is to know about one thing and putting it all in one place so others don't have to go looking for the information themselves.

Jennifer, congratulations on finishing the book! And in time to enjoy the conference. Let's plan that seminar now.

I agree - lead conversion is a good one.

Gary, that's a really good one. I had no clue about being a business when I was selling real estate. I made many business mistakes. I wish I had known then what I know now about business.

Crystal, I've heard in real estate four things. Some play in real estate, some treat it like a hobby, some treat it like they are an employee, and some run it like a business. The latter is what we all should treat it as and work it as a business.
