pumpkinsMilton, West Virginia is the home of the West Virginia Pumpkin Festival.  Its strategic location between West Virginia's largest metropolitan areas of Charleston and Huntington, has contributed to its rank as one of the fastest growing festivals in the state.


Started in 1985, the West Virginia Pumpkin Festival was designed to help farmers with the raising and selling of pumpkins.  The festival is held at the West Virginia Pumpkin Park in Milton, WV on October 6 - 9, 2011 and features a variety of activities for the entire family.

Rebecca, Fall is my favorite time of year. Perhaps because I was born in the fall – I don’t know. Pumpkin is my favorite pie and I love squash. Needless to say, I love pumpkin festivals. I am looking forward to visiting my local pumpkin patch. Once again, you write another great Localism post.

What a colorful post! Wish we had some of the Fall colors that you have. One of my fondest memories is driving in West Virginia in the spring when there was an amazing display of dogwoods and azaleas in full bloom. It's like the mountains were covered with lace. Breathtakingly beautiful!

I love the sight of all the pumpkins in the fields.  Locally someone floats a pumpkin on their building and from a distance it looks like the pumpkin baloon is floating on the ocean.  This is pumpkin season every where. A

Rebecca, love the colors very easy to read and this looks like a fun event to attend. Fall is my favorite time of year, great food from the gardens being harvested, bundling up and layering the cool winter clothes, and not to mention a nice comfy bed at night! :)
