"Follow the trail and you will never fail!"

The Patapsco Valley State Park in Maryland is a 'giant back-yard' for everyone living in the Catonsville, Elkridge and Ellicott City areas - it covers more than 16,000 acres and offers 170 miles of trails, plenty of opportunities for hiking, mountain-biking, horseback-riding and fishing as well as play-grounds and picnic areas for family gatherings. Patapsco Valley State Park is a true oasis.

There are some steep climbs but the easy to moderate trails are being mastered by my girls - 6 years and 2 1/2 years - with the help of walking sticks and an occasional ride on daddy's shoulders! Patapsco Valley State Park is a favorite place for my family to visit.

Andrea. Taking a hike or a trip through your Patapsco Valley State Park is a wonderful idea for everyone. It some great exercise too, and I know I need a lot of it these days. You have given me an idea to go and find a place to go hiking in my area too.

Hi Chris, I'm glad you could make out the smile - it looks diminished with the smaller pic size. But yes, the smiles are all that count! And I tell you that place is truly magical - as many times as we have been there we have never heard one complaint as to the likes of "my legs are tired ... I don't want to ... are we there yet?"!
