Albuquerque Academy Division Head to Retire
On September 9, 2011, I received an official notification from Albuquerque Academy, announcing the retirement of Mr. Mike Linsell, the Head of the 6-7 Division. The message reads like this: "It is with great admiration and high regard that we announce Mike Linsell's retirement, at the end of this academic year, from the 6-7 Division Head position. Arriving at the Academy from Cincinnati Country Day School in 1984, Mike has led the 6-7 Division since 1994, creating a place of learning, friendship, and joy for students, each year blending students from elementary schools around the city into a cohesive learning community."
As a parent of two Albuquerque Academy Alums, I privileged to have known Mr. Linsell. I will say publicly, without reservation, that he was one of the most influential figures in my children's young lives. They respected him, they spoke very highly of him, and his name was used quite often in my household. It was quite refreshing to know that my children were cared for in every way possible at school.
I would like to express my sincere thanks and gratitude to Mr. Linsell. I know that this is a bitter-sweet occasion, and I wish you and your family all the best. Farewell.
