Buying an AC system in the fall? Janice Roosevelt, Keller Williams Real Estate, PA & DE

As the leaves begin to turn and the nights cool off, the furthest thing from my mind is buying a new air conditioning system. HVAC friends tell me it is THE BEST time to buy as things slow down for them and that makes perfect sense. Not only can you get an AC system installed quickly, but possibly get quite a savings .

Some contractors may knock anywhere from 10 to 20% off the total cost of the installation during the winter months. Considering that most central air systems can cost between $5,000 and $15,000, you will save literally thousands of dollars when you take this advice.

Even the quality of the job done could be better than if it was installed in the summer.  In fact, they’ll be so happy to have the work at this time of the year that they may throw in a few extras!

While I am not quite ready to turn on the electric blanket or even the heat, it's worth considering.

Here in NYC a lot of the buildings do not HVAC so they are left to put in window type A/C's.  I tell clients that this is the best time to buy!  Cheaper, plus you can have the pick of the litter on Craig's List because people move out all year round and want to recoup any monies they can in this expensive city.

More opinions than you want to hear about.

If you incorporate your air conditioner needs with a heat pump, you may also save a few bucks on the winter fuel bill.

Very "COOL" suggestion.  Ok, Ok, I know, but I couldn't resist.

BTW, now recruiting ASSOCIATES who would like to help me make my goal of 100K active rain points in only 1 year.
