Magnolia Lions Club Pays $10,608.17 Towards Food and Supplies For Wild Fire Victims. From 10 - 11am Saturday September 17th, 2011, the Wild Fire victims could sign up to shop at the Walmart on Alice Road in Tomball, and have the Lions club pay $50 per person towards their approved food and supplies.

This is one of the district governers for the Lions Club. He had a great "Texas" tie on.
These folks were close to the cash registers. I talked to the majority of the folks in line. They were mostly from Remington Forest, Ranch Crest, River Park Ranch and Oak Hollow. Some had homes that burnt to the ground, others had major smoke damage.
The line was very long, stretching out of the garden center and through the store.
At the end of the line I started talking with this man. He is a fire fighter and he fought fires in Remington Forest and other areas. The sad part is that his own house in Remington Forest burned down. The fire fighters were able to save his brothers house next door with multiple fire trucks.

Here were the workers at the registers, paying the Lions club amount per person and also helping with the bagging.
The President of the Magnolia Lions Club, Chris Hardee, is on the right watching the operation. The Lions club ended up helping 55 families and a total of 208 people with the $10,608.17 worth of food, clothes and supplies.
