Last night CNN did a segment on options to help revive the US Economy. In one of the segments, Fritz Van Passchen, Director, President and Chief Executive Officer Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc stressed the importance in international visitors to The US Tourism Industryy. He noted that Chinese Tourists spend on average over $4,000 per vist and outspend visitors from other countries. Recently, Hawaii received their first direct flight from Shanghai and the local tourism industry.

Yes David, the segment even made the comparison to Japan and stated China could be the next big thing if the direct flights continue and the Visa requirements are eased.
