Why is Vegas Bob paying a Monthly Water Bill to Arrighi, Rader & Blake LLC

By
Industry Observer

Robert (Vegas Bob) Swetz purchased a VACANT one acre lot in Walker Lake Nevada 4 years ago, with no utilities or WATER ever connected to the lot.

Around one year ago Vegas Bob received a (Water Bill) from ...

WALKER LAKE WATER DISTRICT C/O ARRIGHI, RADER & BALKE LLC

PO BOX 1457

YERINGTON NEVADA  89447

When VB first received the Water Bill he was very disappointed and called the phone number on the bill to ask them why he was paying for water that wasn't being used. Someone tried to explain to VB that is was NEVADA STATE LAW and there was work being done in the small town of Walker Lake Nevada. I asked them why it was being paid to a LLC? And why I hadn't paid a Water Bill 3 years ago when I first purchased my property?

What ever the reason Vegas Bob is paying this Water Bill on his property at Walker Lake, he feels that he is being ripped off and there may be others in Walker Lake that are also being ripped off. I spoke with another person that I called from my Water Bill statement and they said there was work being done at Walker Lake, I mentioned that I would like some proof and verification of any work that has been done.

I have never received any documentation of work being done that would give the Walker Lake Water District reason to charge Vegas Bob $25.00 dollars every month.

If any one reads this post and has property in Walker Lake and is being charged a fee for a vacant lot, please call the phone number connected to this post.

Hello Eric and it's bills like this that VB finds to be "CROOKED" and just another way to either employ some one, send out mail and basically rip-off people.

VB ;o)

PS - I think if we to contact an attorney we could make these bills go away!

Hi VB,

The scenario you describe sounds VERY frustrating especially if they are not willing to prove what work has been done.

That said, seem to have a wonderful lot with a great view.  Very nice...

Good luck.

It is just another case of the government taking your money, I guess they think since we give so much to the Federal Governement and get no accounting of why, it should be natural for them to get some!!!  HA, good luck on solving.

It does seem odd that you would be charge for water that you do not have on your property. Are the gas, electric, and sewer fees coming shortly VB?

Hi Vegas Bob - Why wouldn't the water district be invoicing you directly rather than a law firm?  Very strange.  Has the LLC quoted the specific provision of a particular Nevada law and have you read that law to verify that it makes sense?

Vegas Bob I would call your state assymbleman or senator, maybe the Attorney General and ask them to get some information for you.

Thanks for stopping by every one and I am sure this LLC in the title and on my page is not going to like this post because they have their name written all over it. If this water payment to them is legit then they really shouldn't have a problem with it, and if their not ... then they just have some problems coming their way!

Hi Bob,

I also have a lot there are water lake...undeveloped.   I was hit with a bill for $925 and $25 going forward.  I am not going to pay it.  I was going to take these guys to Small Claims over this, but stopped after reading this.   Is there a group lawsuit forming?   Any lawyer working on behalf of the landholders?

If not, I will continue with my small claims lawsuit.

Thanks,

Tony

Hello Tony at comment #9 and I am real unsure about this collecting of money from The Walker Lake Water district through this LLC. I have contacted the BBB and they are looking into this whole situation. What I find so irritating is ... this is the only vacant property I own out of 4 different ones across the country that I pay a water bill. Also when I purchased this property from a Real Estate Agent this 25 dollar per month water bill was not disclosed ... ;o(

Hi Bobby, How come you never returned my call? Are you gonna let these bastards screw us or are you going to help organize the vacant lot owners against these commies that are trying to steal our land???~~~BostonBilly

Hi Tony,

Looks like Bob is too busy to be bothered to respond But I hope you aren't as we can't let mafioso terror tactics mascarading as government athority to take over our properties. I can't even figure out how to locate these lowlife bureaucrats so far, as they are obviously hiding behind some kind of smokescreen like in the wizard of oz. They are using government loopholes to rob us blind! I say, get your fucking pipes out of our area then your claim is useless. There are a lot better ways to supply ourselves of H20 then their stinkin' polluted runoff that you "need to boil" in order to use!~~~~BostonBilly

Glad to see you restored this blog, Bob. Maybe that trip to the musuem brought you back to your senses? Maybe you or someone else out there knows how to get a hold of the moron town officials that approved this piece of nonsense so we can take them out on the lake for a better view of all the free water right under their noses that people are stealing up river. THOSE FOLKS ARE THE ONES THEY SHOULD BE BILLING FOR PREVENTING NATURE FROM TAKING IT'S COURSE! I'm researching pvc eating bugs we can introduce into the soil on our property lines so those pipes will no longer exist. Meanwhile you should be working on the assessor's office to get a list of vacant town land owners so we can begin to pull a list of class action lawsuits against the water district and each and every town official. Anybody know who these maggots are? I have some bugs that eat pvc and maggots too so we can freshen up the whole community in one full sweep!

Hello Boston Billy ... everything is on the up & up with this property and the LLC collecting the money. I keep bothering the persons connected to the LLC and mentioned that all owners really need some type of documentation. They emailed me the information on everything that's taking place along with the other owners ... BONUS!

I drove by this property on my way to Lake Tahoe ... what I really need to do is take this video off and replace it with a new one and let people know the news ... I will do it on my next trip to Tahoe in the next couple weeks.

Hi VB,

Do you really think "everything is on the up and up" when these thugs are shaking down innocent lot owners just because their pipes pass by our lots??? They are using a loophole in the law for no good. Maybe I should charge them thirty dollars a month b//c their pvc pipes run past my lot and are leaching pvc onto my property thus polluting my soil which will soon be unfit for planting any edible crops. Furthermore they should be fined another dollar a day for each and every day that passes that they do not remove the pipes from the ground in front of my lot!

I think you are displaying the wrong attitude in dealing with these low lifes for knuckling under to their strong arm tactics. I don't recall being given a chance to vote for any of the selectpersons(if there are any) but I'm sure we are entitled to a vote, if they are elected officials, just by the fact that we are property owners in the town and if we are paying for water that we aren't getting then we should have a say as to who's passing this horse shit!~~~BostonBilly

Well Billy ... You do have a point, and I did turn them into the Better Business Bureau ... still waiting for a response ...

Personally I don't think that any of the land owners including myself should be paying a penny for an experimental well and or a second well because the original is getting low ;o(

Hey VB,

What's the latest on the H20 bills? It's been almost 5 mos. since the last message. I've been building a small pile of them so far but haven't as of yet called anyone. You have rapport with these people so why don't you suggest they get their pipes out of the way of your property? You can always construct a cistern and buy your water elsewhere. I'm sure it will be a lot cheaper than what these crooks are offering, and from what I hear of a lot better quality.~~~BB

Hi I have a place right close to the water holding tanks (at Walker Lake), just got it and will be trying to get my water turned on very soon, then I read this http://ndep.nv.gov/bffwp/walkerlake.htm and now don't know what to do. I have my own water holding tanks that I could put on this place and my own water transport, but if I do all of this will I still have to pay for water that they can not get to me, the owner before me told me it would be over $2000 for them to put a meter in to get me water, and he told me he has to pay some back bill for water, so at this point I have no clue what is going to take place. One thing that is for sure is I will be bringing in my own water for wrinking.

Hi Tie,

Is your last name Mekangaroodown or maybe Dyed? Sorry.I just got a letter from your water co. that says they will put a lien on my lot if I don't start coughing up some cash in 2 weeks. This is nothing but a conspiricy perpetrated by the town and the water co. to steal lots. I don't know if I can stop them myself but V.B. doesn't seem to want to help. He filed a complaint with the better business bureau last Jan. and "settled it" in Feb. so maybe he's made a sweet deal with the h2o co. to get a reduced bill to shut up. I thought maybe a class action lawsuit by the vacant lot owners against the town selectpersons & the h2o co.(if I can figure out who they are) might rattle their cages a little if nothing else but can't afford to do it alone.

Hello Billy and I never settled with them, I am still paying 25 dollars per month for a vacant lot with no electricity, water or any untilities.

If you know how I can round up the land owners in Walker Lake please let me know. I am sure all of these land owners would love to not pay for something they shouldn't be!

Hey Billy,

Please send me a email and I will send you one of my water bills so you can take a look. Myself and many other property owners would love to take some action to stop paying for water we are not even using!
