We all dream of what we want to be when we grow up with most of us are in professions we never thought we'd be in.  When we were younger and learning the lessons of an honest's day work, it was very satisfying to get that paycheck.  The average person will have 7-10 jobs in their lifetime.

What was your very first job?

I worked after school at a doctor's office - Monday, Wednesday and Friday.  On Mondays, my job was to file reports from the hospital of any patients that had been hospitalized over the weekend.  Couldn't help but read them - mostly boring stuff until I came across one particular patient.  I will never forget what he did to himself and the fact that he had to go to the hospital to undo it . . .

My very first job was at 14.  I worked evenings in the back of a bagel store, bagging bagels to be sold on the West Coast.  It was a great job, pretty good pay, all the food we could eat, they owner would take us horse back riding, to the water park to show his appreciation.  Plus I worked with 5 friends every night. I learned how to make bagels (a skill I never used again), coffee regular, etc.   But I will tell you this we abused those bagels, I will not eat a bagel that comes out of a plastic bag.

My first job was as a hostess at a restaurant.  A friend helped me get the job - though I loved working there, the first week I had to borrow my friend's clothes until I could get something appropriate.  She wore only high heels, so not only was I having to get used to being on my feet ALL the time, but while getting used to wearing heels as well!  My feet were totally numb by the time I got my own FLAT shoes to wear.

Back in the late 60s I had a job at Sears running what was called an add-punch computer.  It was their billing computer for their customers, and it was the size of two entire rooms.  It punched holes in huge lengths of paper.  My how times have changed.

Myn first job ... outside of neighborhood babysitting ... was at the "Frosty spot" in Gardnerville, Nevada.  this was a very cool place to be, I was a freshman and all the high school kids came to the "Frosty" for lunch!

I Remember ... $.45 for a hamburger ... $.25 for fires ... $.20 for a drink!  With Tax ... a dollar just about covered it!

Fernando, My screen can't take many more of your bugs.  I hope you are a better broker than you were an exterminator.  My first job was riding fenceline on my horse, to get goats out of the fence. They tangled their horns in the wire and could never get themselves out.
