14 Comments on Victoria's Public Market Season is Drawing to a Close, still some time to visit.
Peter and Linda, That's quite an impressive list of all the Public Market places for residents in Victoria. I am sure many will want to take advantage before they close for the season.
Peter & LInda - What a wonderfully informative post this is for your community. I wish these markets could last year round. We only have a few, and one has already closed. Every one of them has something different. It's so interesting to go check out the local products.
Hi Jerry,
Thank you for visiting, and we hope the Victoria residents take advantage of the last few weeks of this years public markets
Hi Barbara,
Thank you for your kind words and feed back, and you are so correct, that each market seems to carry its own flavours and specialty items and vendors, we just love visiting them.
Hi There Peter and Linda! You have some amazing markets there. I'll bet it's sad to see them wrap up for the season. But then again, I think you are lucky to have seasons! We still have four seasons but they are hot, hot, hot, Warm/Freezing. And then back to Hot. LOL...
Deb
Peter & Linda - it is that time of year when famers and public markets will start to pack up and won't be back until spring and kudos to you for reminding your community. It's now or never and I'm visiting my local one this Saturday - I think we have 2 weeks left :(
Hi Deb,
our seasons are sping, summer, fall and Grey, Spring starts in Late January.
Hi Kristine,
In Victoria we will pack up the public markets by mid October, for the season, but the farmer markets have their own buildings and will cotinue right thru the year.
Peter and Linda~
When I lived in Friday Harbor, I often rode the ferry over to BC and know how wonderful Victoria's locally-grown and harvested food and flowers are! THX for the reminder.
It is always sad to see our markets closing for the season n'est pas? I need to compile a list like this for our area. Pfantastic work as always!
Peter and Linda, the season's just too short! I'm not ready for the tomatoes to be done!
Hi Jane Anne,
Yes we still see a few people making the bcike trip over from Anacortes, it is now a seasonal Ferry, and people are very keen on both sides to keep it going, come visit some time.
Hi Steve,
It is, a true sign that summer is coming to an end, but Fall is pretty good around Victoria, so no need to to be glum, we will find some other great activities to get in the the Victoria Spirit.
Hi Connie,
Tomatoes are done my dear, no time to be wasted, better get canning them red energy and health boosters.
Peter and Linda, I love fall farmer's markets... when most of the crops are coming in and the air is crisp...
Hi Chris,
