Just a bad Tuesday!

Everyone has either had or will have a day like today.  No matter what was planned, not one thing was completed on the goal sheet.

Mine started late last night, just after I hit "Post Blog Entry" on my Monday post.  My 78 year old mother called with a stomach ache.  I traveled the five miles to her place at midnight and stayed with her until 1:30 AM.  She had complaints, but nothing that seemed all that unusual given her age and basic medical condition.

Obviously, got to sleep much later than normal so I set the alarm for 7:45 AM because I had scheduled an Air Conditioning company to arrive between 8 - 9 AM to do some work on the air ducts.  Imagine my surprise when shortly after 6 AM my two Dobermans and the little Heinz 57 mutt we own (or do they own us) go off on a barking spree and wake me up.  One (or more) had presented me with an Armadillo they had caught in the backyard and which now was cowering in the guest bathroom.  I am sure he/she didn't find its' own way into the house.  I capture it, put it into one of our recycle plastic bins, put the bin in the truck and release the Armadillo in an empty lot about a half mile from our house.  i haven't even had my first cup of coffee yet!

The AC guys show up and begin their work, I now have coffee and things couldn't get worse, could they.

The phone rings about 8:30 and it's Mom again,  Normally she's a trooper and doesn't complain.  This must be serious.  While driving to her place I cancel a listing appointment.  Two hours later I convince her that the emergency room is "where we oughta be" and off we go.  Various blood and other tests later, several x-rays and finally a Cat-scan, they decide that there is a "mass" in her colon".  Could have formed yesterday or last century, dunno!

But Mom has great insurance, Medicare and Tricare for Life (my dad was career military), plus supplemental coverage.  They decide to admit her for the night, I can't wait to see the bill I won't have to pay.

At this point  it could be anything from an air pocket to the big "C", dunno, can't worry yet.

There is more; some funny, some stupid, but I have two minutes to post this and keep my 31 days of blogging going!  Tomorrow!

Wow Steven, you really had some day!  An armadillo in the bathroom must have been an interesting experience. The worst I've ever had to start the day off with is a bird delivered by cats.  I hope you get some good news about mom tomorrow.
