In my opinion, the reason Paramus, NJ is still fairing pretty well in today's volatile real estate market is the fact that it's a very desirable town in Bergen County, NJ.
When you are able to combine a reasonable NYC commute with great schools, plentiful shopping malls, low taxes and excellent town services, real estate values are more likely to decrease less in a poor market and increase more in a strong market.
Remarkably, Paramus has seen an increase in the median sold price of 2% in the last 12 months vs. that same period on 2010!
