Toyota U.S. Open Triathlon
Rockwall is the location for the Toyota U.S. Open Triathlon on Sunday, October 2. There is a strong field of competitors for the Race to the Toyota Cup Series Championship. More than 3,500 spectators are expected for this major event in Rockwall. The participants, over 1,000, are from 23 states and seven counties. These athletes will swim, cycle and run throughout Rockwall.
This event was held last year, 2010, and generated hundreds of hotel rooms booked and thousands of dollars pouring into the Rockwall local economy. This is the first fall weekend and it is going to be busy out and about in Rockwall and around Lake Ray Hubbard where there are always lots of fun things to do.
CAUTION: WARNING! Watch out for runners and bikers during the race. Routes will be marked and blocked off but it is urgent to take care during this event in order to not endanger the athletes.
