I wonder how well this law was enforced? 

No spitting sign found at the Cripple Creek District Museum

The photo of this old sign was taken at the Cripple Creek District Museum which used to be Cripple Creek's train depot.  At one time, the Cripple Creek district had over 500 gold mines.   Cripple Creek is about an hour away from Colorado Springs.

I had to look up expectoration in the dictionary, coughing phlegm, wow, I had not seen any sign like this anywhere Sondra.... PROSECUTED huh?? I know nowadays... chewing tobacco people have this same problem. Wow, you do find the weird signs there... a funny one...  life sure changes from the past. I think they had a higher vocabulary than us  Ha Ha.

Sondra - lol and I think spitting is so gross people should be prosecuted - lol, at least have to pay a fine. I'm guessing this was when people used to chew tobacco? Yuk! Makes for a funny post!
