♪♪♪♪ I Hear the Sound of Music in My Backyard!♪♪♪♪

Last week, I bought a bird feeder and food and proudly hung it in the plum tree in my backyard as I had been reading about it being our duty to feed the birds since the weather will be changing soon.  So I hung it up and nothing……..

Yesterday, I heard birds singing but when I went outside, nothing! But this morning, they were all over and singing so loudly. It is such a joyous sound to hear them chirping; such a wonderful sound of music to your ear!

The weather is changing and the birds that do not fly away will need some help to survive the winter. If you care, please hang feeders in your yard to help. The birds will appreciate it and you will also hear the sound of music ♪♪♪♪.

Hi Doug,

That is a very interesting fact and I have never heard that before. Thanks for sharing so if I put up hummingbird feeders, I will put 2 up to and separate them. Alpha Bird! I have been thinking about hummingbird feeders since I have a large group of these cute little green buzzing birds hanging around.

Hi Michelle,

Yes birds add a lot of joy to our lives. I am happier when I go outside and hear them singing loudly. When they are happy, I am happy.

Hi Carol,

I used to have a Pomeranian and she loved to catch and eat the birds. YUK! But I felt horrible as I had 3 feeders in my yard so I put them away for a couple of years. Well Snowy has passed on and my little dogs do not seem too concerned about birds so it was a good time to put the feeders back up.

Thanks Jeanean,

No I do not show them but I am working on becoming a better photographer. I am getting a new camera for Christmas and I plan to take some classes. But I really appreciate your nice comments. That is probably one of the nicest things anyone has said to me! Thanks so much.

One of my secrets,  I now take my camera with me everywhere I go. Then I can pull over and get some terrific shots. I love taking pictures almost as much as selling real estate. Luckily I can do them both simultaneously.

Hi Than,

I make sure the feeder is full before going to bed so I just wake up to their happy voices. That makes me happy.

Hi Kristin -

We too feed and enjoy the beauty and entertainment of birds year round.  I agree with you my favorite pic is # 3 with his foot dangling from the feeder.  Very cool post and thanks for sharing.

Hi John,

I like that one the best too. I do not think we see the dangling feet very often. Perhaps my feeder is too small. I think perhaps that bird has been there too long as well as it looks overstuffed. Give someone else a treat!

I always enjoy seeing your bird feeder pictures as well. Have a lovely weekend.

Hi Joni,

I agree and it was weird not hearing their chirping for a while . So that was one of the reasons I decided to hang up a bird feeder to hear their singing again.

I had one bird who perches on my front porch and he is gone now. I guess he flew south for the winter. Hopefully he will be back in the spring. Even though he makes a mess on my porch and I have to clean it up, I am sad he is gone.

Kristin, Your new birdfeeder certainly attracted some beautiful little birds. You took some really nice pictures.  Looks like you'll have the happy sound of chirping birds for some time to come in your backyard.

Hi Sandy,

Yes they seem happy and I will continue to feed them during the harsh winter even though it is not as hard as other parts of the country.  I am going to put up some hummingbird feeders too but they require more care.

Hi Heather.

It takes many attempts to get good pictures and I would say probably 1-5 ratio to get clear pictures. Sometimes when I download, there is no bird in the photo at all. They fly pretty fast. Thanks for the nice comments. Have a lovely weekend.

I love your cactus picture on your profile. I have hens and chickens in my yard that rooting from a plant my mother bought in Tennessee when she got married in 1939. Said it came in small cup and she planted it. She has takens pieces of it everytime she has moved to a new house since. And every time I move, I take roots too and they grow up so pretty and have babies.

Kristin, With the severe drought we are in I have made sure water is in our bird bath daily. I have seen more birds this summer than I ever have before.  They are so happy to find some water.

Hi Marchel,

We need to take care of the birds as it is harder for them to find food in the winter and water in the summer especially in hot areas like your state, Texas, and mine, California. I keep reading all the national bird sites, Cornell, Audubon Society, National Wildlife Federation and others and they all remind us to take care of the birds as the weather has confused them in the past few years. Have a great weekend.
