There are many types of hidden fears that can stop someone from making a Bothell real estate purchase. While these can vary from one person to the next there are a few common ones that may fit your situation.

1. Marriage problems

If there is some sort of problem within your marriage you may not be willing to make a big financial commitment together. If there is even a small nagging doubt about the relationship it can hold you back from buying a home.

The only thing that can be done about this is to resolve the doubt conflict. Really examine your relationship with your spouse or sufficient other since if it is stopping you from buying a Bothell home, it may also be stopping you from doing a lot of other things.

2. Fear of Paperwork

There is a lot of paperwork involved with the purchase of a home, that's for sure! The good news is that a real estate agent can guide you through it step by step. He can also give you a full explanation of what is expected and show you the papers themselves so that you don't have to deal with the fear of the unknown. You'd actually be very surprised to find out how many people avoid buying a Bothell home because of the paperwork!

3. Fear of overspending

Many people just can't get a clear concept on the costs of owning a Bothell home and worry about overspending and not being able to meet the financial commitment required. This is a job for your real estate agent or an accountant. They can both give you a pretty close approximation of how much you would need to spend on a monthly basis. Once you see it on paper you will be amazed to see at how workable it can really be.

Of course, there are many other fears that can come into play with the purchase of  real estate. The idea is to find them and then conquer them so that you can finally get the home you have always been dreaming of.

"Money, Love and... Paperwork" that could be the title of a book!  We all find our reasons to not make a big purchase especially in these economic times.  But really, when you look at the big picture of your life, lifestyle, and future, if someone can make it happen, a home purchase is so rewarding.

Adrian, that first one would be a doozy.  I don't think I'd even sign a lease on an apartment if that doubt hung over my head.

Hi Adrian -

Yep #1 would scare me to death and I can see it stopping anyone with any sense from buying.  All good points and information.  Life is a gamble, we take chances every day all day long.  Buying a home is huge and it's my feeling that when a person or couple is ready they will know it and will easily take the plunge.

Hope you enjoy a relaxing afternoon.

Best regards from the Q

I agree, if there are marriage issues, don't BUY!     If you have fears of being laid off, maybe not.    The interest rates are so low, if you are renting --- you need to buy!
