Do You Embrace Change?

This post is inspired by the recent changes on Facebook. I heard a lot of grumbling about it and it got me thinking was it the fact that the change occurred or that Facebook didn’t prepare anyone for it to happen?

Change is typically better handled when people have a chance to digest what’s going to happen. In real estate our world changes daily, we could have our day perfectly mapped out and then get a call from someone to go show a house…BAM change of plans. I don’t mind surprises nor do I typically stress over change but, for those who can’t handle a surprise birthday song at a restaurant it can be very stressful. change

We can learn from Facebook that making changes with no explanation doesn’t go over very well. It leaves consumers feelings lost and irritated in the business world and if its personal change it can leave those close to you feeling the same. I like change because often times it means progress however, unlike Facebook I try to leave the blindsiding out.

Great point you make, Amanda! I don't mind change, but I handle it much better when I have even a little warning!

Why doesn't Facebook learn that we all would like notice - and then maybe a tutorial when the change comes about!

I think a lot of people do not like change and as you said certainly not without knowlwdge that there is going to be a change.   I am one of those who does not like the Facebook change. It does some strsnge things.

Amanda, if you don't accept change, you will be left behind in the dust.     It took me a while to change over to the new FB profile, but it is ok now.
