Rosh Hashana - A Time For New Beginnings
Happy New Year to all of my Jewish friends, families, customers and aquintainces.
Beginning this Wednesday evening at sundown, Jews througout the world will be celebrating Rosh Hashana, the Jewish New year.
The holiday is a time of celebration marked with solemnity. It is a time for prayer, introspection and repentance; a time for looking back at the mistakes of the past year and planning the changes and improvements for the new year, it's a time for renewal and new beginnings.
On Rosh Hashana it is customery to eat sweet foods, apples and bread dipped in honey, in the hopes that the coming year will be a sweet and joyous one.
So to all my Jewish friends and neighbors, here’s wishing you a “Shana Tova U’metuka” - A “Happy Sweet New Year” full of life's blessings.
Look at these kids - they're hard at work trying to make sure that their year stays a sweet one. Hope yours' does too!
