Cedar City Localism Post...Soviet Era Art Exhibit.....

By
Real Estate Agent with Aubrey and Associates Realty

The Braithewaite Fine Art Gallery on the Campus of Southern Utah University is hosting an exhibit of Soviet Era Art.  This period from 1917 to 1991 includes a remarkable overview of Soviet artists from that period.  The subject vary from people, history to the movement of Soviet Artwork.

The exhibit is free and open to the public.  The Gallery is open Tuesday through Saturday from Noon to 7 PM.  This is another great exhibit that we here in Cedar City are blessed to get because we have a great University!  So come on up and check it out.  I have to admit that I have had the Beatles "Back in th U.S.S.R." playing in my head as I have written this post, so it must be good!

Alexandra, That is neat that you studied Soviet literature and art.  As for the clerk, he is right, but it wasn't all that long ago that it did exist!

Tony, that sounds like a really interesting exhibit.   Last year, I had the opportunity to spend a few days in a former Soviet Republic (Kyrgyzstan). I bought two oil paintings and to this day remain fascinated by their art.
