Long Grove, Illinois is very unique.... its a very quaint suburb, but with all the amenities of city living. Although it is relatively small in population, it is quite large in terms of square miles. Long Grove is conveniently located only 10 minutes from I-94, 12 minutes from I-90, and 5 minutes east of Rt. 53. Chicago is 30 miles away, while O´Hare Airport is also a 30-minute ride. Commuters can catch the Metra train at the Prairie View train station or in downtown Palatine.
Children living in Long Grove attend kindergarten at Willow Grove Elementary School in Buffalo Grove, first through 5th grades at Kildeer Countryside Elementary School or Country Meadow Elementary School in Long Grove and 6th through 8th grade at Woodlawn Middle School in Long Grove. A smaller amount of children living in Long Grove attend Diamond Oak for elementary school and West Oak Junior High
Teenagers will attend the highly acclaimed Stevenson High School One of three schools in America and the only school in Illinois to earn four Blue Ribbon Awards for excellence from the U.S. Department of Education. The Stevenson's student´s average ACT score is 24.8, considerably higher than the state average of 21.5.
