Spotlight on Sailing

Sailboat Alert - this will be a great weekend to enjoy watching the sailboats on beautiful Lake Ray Hubbard. There is nothing quite as majestic as watching a sailing regatta. The weather is expected to be perfect for getting out & about Rockwall County

Rush Creek Yacht Club will be the scene of lots of activity this weekend with the George Griffith Regatta 2011. Rush Creek Yacht Club will be rocking with lots of great times, inside and out, and the scene for major parties, lots of good food, music, SAILING, more food, and SAILING.

Rush Creek Yacht Club is located at 320 Rush Creek Drive in Heath. This George Griffith Regatta 2011 will kick off on Friday, September 30 at 6:00 PM with registration and lots of cool entertainment. It is rumored that the "Totally Twisted Karaoke" will be a highlight of the evening. The Corporate Race will be at 5:00 PM on Saturday, October 1 with a Sponsor's party to follow at 7:00 PM. Proceeds from the event will benefit Helping Hands

This is the season to enjoying getting out & about Lake Ray Hubbard and enjoy the good life on the sweet side of Dallas!

There is always something fun, interesting, free or very affordable to do in Rockwall County in Heath. I was wondering how the sailing event was beneficial to your health.

OK, so you are out and about, there is some excercise in running the sails, tying and untying.

Then I noticed Heath is the name of an area where you live!

Clint - there is a sailing boat, the Seawolf, which would be great to charter a cruisee to get up close and personal with the boats in the regatta.

Bill - it has been awhile for you. Sailing is hard work the way the real sailors do it especially if the weather gets dicey. I am more of a fair weather sailor myself.

Barbara- I enjoy watching sailboat events. Yes, there is somthing about it being magical. I think it's calming, relaxing and a beautiful sight to see the boats just sail with the wind. Have fun and take lots of pictures.
