Sunday, September 25, 2011 is the 14th Annual Walk for the Animals! This 5K/2K walk is benefiting the Orange County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. Event highlights include DISC DOGS in Southern California; Canine contests for movie star look a like contest and best stunt, a mini-agility course, dozens of sponsors and vendor booths, a silent auction and low cost AVID micro chipping. Well-mannered dogs, on short leashes, are welcomed to attend. Registration begins at 7:30 am and the walk starts at 9 am. The event is located at Huntington Beach Central Park East. Coming up Saturday, October 1, 2011 from 10am - 6pm is the annual Irvine Global Village Festival. Boasting artistic cultural performances on five stages, the Festival's live entertainment is a mosaic of music and dance representing more than 50 cultures from Europe, Asia, Africa, and North and South America. Sunday, October 23, 2011 from 9-4 is the Wings, Wheels and Rotors Expo! This event is a great mix of civilian and military helicopters and aircraft, plus a custom car show featuring classics, muscle cars and more than 300 varieties plus a vendor fair with more than 100 exhibitors selling food and car or aircraft related items. This family event also has games, a kid’s corner and live entertainment. The event is located on the Joint Forces Training Base.

Coming up Sunday, October 2, 2011 at 11:00am is the Annual Sandcastle Contest! This event is hosted by the Commodores Club of the Newport Beach Chamber of Commerce, thousands of sightseers will descend on "Big Corona Beach" to view amazing sand sculptures created by participants ranging from the novice to the expert.
