1966 Ford Truck, Nostalgia Day Car Show, Livermore, CA Nostalgia Day Car Show
Downtown Livermore
Sunday, September 25, 2011

It’s like American Graffiti, right in our own backyard. Tomorrow car aficionados and collectors will come out in force to proudly show off their classic cars, all prettied up and waiting for the oohs and ahs.  In fact, Candy Clark, one of the original stars in the show will be making an appearance.

The Altamont Cruisers car club is behind the event, which is now in its  22nd year. Beginning at 9:00 a.m. and going till 4:00, this fundraiser for local youth will also feature arts and crafts, food booths, and music from the 50s and 60s - so a little something for everyone. The weather today has been in the low 80s, just perfect for enjoying a stroll down memory lane (well, for some of us anyway).

So much work goes into restoring an old car. I know – I watched my husband work tirelessly to source parts for the restoration of the awesome 1966 Ford Truck shown above.  He showed this truck a couple of times in the past, and it’s a great way to spend an Indian Summer day.

I love looking at old cars, I am always watching the Meecum and Barret Jackson auctions. One of these days I will get me one!

Yeah, even thought I'm not a car person in general, I love looking at the classics. There is a really great show I've been to before, but not at this location. Check it out if you're even in northern CA. http://www.hillsboroughconcours.org/

Looks like fun Karen! Nothing quite like the older cars. Funny, the older cars never used to be that old.  :)

Whoa, Karen, if I was out there, I would be there.  I hardly miss any old car shows.  I have two old ones of my own a 1950 Ford Pickup and and 54 Sedan Delivery....corvette yellow.  Love the old rides.

Karen, I hope the car-show was fun!  We just had one here in the Vail Valley that was a huge success.  My hubby and I restored a '78 VW Transporter (bus) and though it was fun, you're right, it's a LOT of work!  We had some great times restoring and then traveling in the bus, though!

So, I thought I'd get to see the show for awhile today. But, I got a call at 8:00 a.m. from a buyer with questions about a property on Realtor.com, no longer for sale. We chatted, I set up a search for him. A couple of hours later we had the face to face along with a lender, then went out to see properties. That's a ok-by-me reason to miss the car show!

That's the best reason to miss a car show!  Hope the showings went well!
