McKinney has a number of events through out the year that are just a lot of fun. One is in the historical district and it is officially called the McKinney Historical Neighborhood Association. If you are interested in the wonderful old homes of yesterday, you need to come and join our association and attend the various social events. At these events, you will meet other folks who have a common passion, namely historical homes and living in the homes built in a romantic period of the earlier century. Those of us who live in the district are just a few minutes from downtown and in our case walking distance. If you live in a historic home or have a dream of owning one someday, you need to join our group in the McKinney Historical Neighborhood Association. You will find folks of all ages and walks of life and there is not a sour puss among them (well may be just one). Tonight we will have our annual Oktoberfest Party, Saturday (10/27), starting at 5:30. Attendees are asked to bring a main or side dish to share and everything you want to drink (beer, wine, soda)... We will have water there and ice. Wear a scary costume if you want to as some folks are .... The location is 804 Tucker which is the home of Bob and Debbie Moore. We have socials, field trips, events all year, and one meeting a quarter to keep the neighborhood up to speed on different events or teach us something new or appropriate to our homes. One of our members sends us an email almost weekly letting us know about happenings from free kittens, friend’s events and, if there are any problems we have had in the neighborhood, a mention of the problem so we all can watch out for each other. If you would like more information of the historical neighborhood association, please call me at 214-263-0816.
