Halloween is coming, a little weekend fun!

The kids looked a little bored so we decided to take them out to a pumpkin patch/farm yesterday. The farm of choice was Hollin Farms out in Delaplane, VA. The girls had a GREAT time playing in the pumpkin fields and the hay. If you look at the pictures you can even see the Barbies that they girls brought along which were reported to have had a great time as well.

We make several trips to farms like this every year as fall approaches and every year the girls love it. They wanted to bring home pumpkins, but I wasn't sure that they would make it until the 31st .

Well, this definitely got my girls in the Halloween mood. We came home and they promptly hopped on the internet to start looking for costume idea. They can hardly wait for Halloween to come to Ashburn :-) I think the pumpkin patch may be calling again next weekend.

Justin, this looks like a great place to take the kids in Delaplane, VA. Enjoy it! I loved taking the kids out for pumpkins and miss this kind of fun...now, as teenagers, they'd rather do homework than go pick pumkins or apples....I know, I asked!

@Cindy - it's nice to get out there and enjoy some scenery!

@Leslie - My kids love doing that sort of stuff. Delaplane is about 50 minutes/miles away from us. Far enough away to seem "special", like another world :-)

Oh, how cute! Like Renee, I miss those days--we always tried out different pumpkin farms and the best years, we went to several just to spend a few weekend hours outdoors when they didn't have soccer or football. You have to do that with rambuctious boys!!

@Debe- When they were babies, we place them among a pile of bright oragne pumpkins for photos. The pics turned out awesome!
