Dinner of Aloha

One of the wonderful things about living on Maui is the incredible community, which gathers together to lend support and encouragement to those in need.  Several members of our community have gathered together to present a "Dinner of Aloha" to raise funds to assist the family of Olivia Bianco, a young girl from Maui recently diagnosed with cancer.  Olivia is in home hospice care, and proceeds from the dinner will assist the family with mounting medical and living costs.

If you are a foodie and happen to be on island, you'll want to check out this six course wine dinner held beachfront at the charming old Olowalu Plantation House.  Prepared by Chef Luis Fuentes of Island Catering and featuring fine wines from Sandwich Isle Cellars, the menu includes Hawaiian Ahi Poke, Lobster Mango Summer Rolls, Dungeness Crab Cakes, Lavendar and Honey Marinated Duck Breast, Seared Ahi Sashimi, Seared Beef Tenderloin, Macadamia Nut Crusted Rack of Lamb, and Grand Marnier Marinated Upcountry Berries.

When: Saturday, November 19, 2011, 5:30-9:00 pm
Where: Olowalu Plantation House
RSVP: Sunday, November 6th.  Tickets are $150. Call Kay Ryan at 808-665-0981 or Debbie Arakaki at 808-283-7214
A silent auction features many of Maui's finest restaurants and activities.

The event sponsors are Island Catering, Sandwich Isle Cellars, Olowalu Elua Associates, Title Guaranty Escrow, and Mr. Sub Deli

Hello Courtney, I would love to come, IF I was "On Island". BUT, I'm here in central Arizona. It is great how your community shares the ever needed helping hand. We should all take note. Hope the best for you and yours. Our thoughts and prayers go out to those in need. Ed

Hi Ed,

Thanks for "stopping by" and reading my blog.  There are many special things about Maui, but I am always impressed by the kindness and generosity of the community.  :)

Hope that you make it to Maui soon!

Aloha,
Courtney

Great localism post!  BTW - You should add this to the localism group, it might boost your reader count.  Wish I were in Maui - much more fun than california.
