Donate Your Unused Airline Miles

Through a partnership with the Fisher House Foundation and individual airlines, airline tickets are available for service men and women wounded or injured in Iraq or Afghanistan or for their families to visit them in the hospital.

At this time, Alaska Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Northwest Airlines, United Airlines, and US Airways accept donations from their passengers.

Alaska Airlines

Alaska Airlines accepts donations for their Charity Miles program which is used to provide air transportation for Operation Hero Miles, the Fisher House Foundation and other worthy causes. Donations are not earmarked specifically for Operation Hero Miles - donated Charity Miles are allocated to the various charities as needed.

To make a donation of your unused miles, please call 1-800-654-669.

Delta Air Lines

Delta and its SkyMiles members were the first to support the military's Operation Iraqi Freedom Rest and Relaxation program and have donated more than 250 million miles to the program.

SkyMiles members may donate a minimum of 5,000 miles to the Fisher House Foundation. To donate your Delta SkyMiles, please send the following information:

  1. Your name
  2. Your SkyMiles account number
  3. The number of miles to be donated (minimum 5,000 miles), and
  4. A request to have your miles donated to the "Fisher House Foundation/Hero Miles"

You may submit your donation request as follows:

  • Visit Delta SkyWish Charities and use the email link to fill out a form and send in your donation request, or
  • Call 800-325-3999, or
  • Mail to: Delta Air Lines Inc., SkyMiles Service Center, Dept. 654, P.O. Box 20532, Atlanta, GA 30320-2532

Midwest Airlines

Midwest Airlines has donated 1,000,000 miles to Operation Hero Miles, and will match all donations mile-for-mile up to an additional 1 million miles.

Midwest Miles members may donate a minimum of 1,000 miles. To donate your Midwest Miles, please use their online donation form.


Northwest Airlines

Northwest Airlines invites WorldPerks members to donate airline miles to support the work of the Fisher House Foundation assist armed services personnel serving in Iraq and Afghanistan in taking convalescent leave from military hospitals and eligible family members of hospitalized service men and women to visit them in medical facilities.

To make a donation, please call toll-free at 1-800-327-2881 and have your WorldPerks account and PIN number ready. Donations begin with a minimum of 5,000 miles and larger donations may be made in 1,000 mile increments. All mileage donations are final.

United Airlines

To make a donation, please call 1-800-421-4655 and have your account information available. You should identify the "Fisher House Foundation/Hero Miles" as the charity you wish to donate your miles to.

To make a donation, please visit the US Airways donationform, select the "Fisher House Foundation", enter you account information and the number of miles then press the submit button.



This site is operated in conjunction with the Fisher House Foundation to promote the donation of airline miles for members of the US Armed Forces. Donated miles may be used by members on active duty deployed overseas for rest and recuperation travel, and to allow family members to visit soldiers injured in the line of duty.
