The University of Puget Sound (UPS)in Tacoma, Washington is the second university that I am writing about, though it was founded 2 years before the first one I wrote about (PLU). The order bias is probably twofold - I attended PLU, and it is located only a couple blocks from our office (obviously they are cross town rivals in athletics).
UPS is a competitive liberal arts university located in the residential north end of Tacoma. They occupy about 97 acres of property. They have several "Greek" houses, as well a more traditional dormatories, and some on campus housing. In addition, there are many homes in the area that have been converted into multiple living areas - so the 2600 students have plenty of options for housing.
There are some 219 faculty on staff, of which about 93% are full time, and nearly all the tenure tracked professors hold doctoral degrees.
Watch for more college/trade school information on Tacoma, coming here soon.
