Good morning, Kathy....this is a very serious problem.....and there is not enough support out there for abused women and their children....if families don't have money, the abuse will continue....

Kathy - I love the way you support such important causes such as domestic violence which is so prevalent in our society and let people know by putting this information out. I hope you have a huge turnout  for the Annual Day of Hope at Anchor Park!  If I lived closer - I be there!

That is one of my favorite causes, Kathy. I hope you get lots of people coming out and supporting AVDA. I don't think enough attention is given to domestic violence even in this day and age.

Kathy, These are some very SAD facts. Abuse women and children need all the help and support they can receive. Wishing you much success for this event.

BARFF- When you think you don't have anywhere to go... you feel trapped.  This organization gives women and their children a plan!

BLiz- we can only hope.  I hope we'll be out of the 90's and high humidity.  It's a good cause.

Rob- the company I worked for 20+ years ago supported this cause.  Since we placed many women in jobs it was a good cause to support.

BarbaraT- you're so right.  And, unfortunately children who have seen abuse or been abused may do the same when they become adults.  Not always but if that's all they know, it's hard for them to see a light at the end of the tunnel.

Dorie- thank you. I love this community in that they are very supportive and encouraging.

John (the Q)- I hope it's a good cause too!  I've never done any kind of race but may turn out and give it a try.

Kristine- I know you would be.  It's hard for those of us lucky to be in nurturing relationships to understand why anyone would stay in this environment.  But, if you don't know where to go and don't have the funds, besides having your ego beaten down... you can understand!

Toni- you're right and women need to be out there supporting other women and helping them get out of an abusive life.

Jerry- When I used to place nannies, I'd ask them if they had been abused or saw abuse growing up.  And, this was something I had to investigate before considering them for placement.
