What do you want from God? Life? health? a job? mortgage paid? car fixed? children to behave? husband to treat you better? wife to stop complaining? When tragedy happens, we are down on our knees praying.
We're closest to God when we NEED him. Maybe that's why we go through trials, to keep us close to Him? Otherwise we get complacent.
Often we use God as a "window shade", we pull him down when we need Him, and then roll Him back up and forget about him when life's going okay.
It's our typical American ENTITLEMENT mindset. Somehow, we are "owed" something. We "deserve" it, if you listen to the TV commercials. Our selfish ego takes over... It's all about ME, Me, me.
So, what DOES God owe you? And me?
Life is not promised. It's a gift. And we should be grateful for every moment.
Grace is available but must be received and accepted. We're certainly not entitled to it.
God owes us nothing.
Every day is a gift. Life is precious -- don't take it for granted.
