 TIPS FOR MOVERS

I have been noticing those advertisements for Pod Moving. To the best of my knowledge it is relatively new to the New Hampshire area but I predict it will take us by storm!

A recent client of mine moved here from Colorado. On closing day he had no truck or evidence of furniture and I asked him when his belongings were coming. He said they were already here , in storage, in a Pod!

With the Pod moving system they bring a pod to your house or apartment and you fill it at your leisure. From what I understand you rent the Pod for one price no matter how long you have it! After the Pod is packed...they come pick it up. You can have it delivered to where you are moving or kept in their facility should your place not be ready. Then not only is it delivered to your door...you unpack at your leisure and then call to have it removed.

Now that alone is fantastic for the hundreds of people moving to a New Construction, if it's not finished....no problem, put your stuff in a Pod. It also works for Closing Dates that can't be co-ordinated or for people Staging A Home, needing to remove items...they only have to move them once!

~~ In my book this is one giant stress reliever!~~

I asked my Client how he liked it. He said the staff from the office people to the drivers...were very friendly and accommodating. He said it was a little more expensive....but definitely worth it!

Sounds good to me! Guess what? The Pods Are Coming!pod container (There's one in Nashua)

Joan - the PODS have been popular here for quite a while.  They are a bit more costly, but when you consider the level of convenience it's definitely worth it.  I'm sure you will be seeing a lot more of them as time goes by.

Around here many landlords use them when they do evictions.  Also when there is an apartment fire or other disaster they are very popular.

Joni - We had a neighbor who had a pod in his driveway for about 6 weeks while they did a complete kitchen remodel and garage makeover.  It was great because they had all their stuff right there if they needed it.  It's also great for sellers to use to clear away the clutter and the things they won't be needing for the months they'll be marketing their home.

Hi Joan, These Pods are so great. We have been recommending them for people who try to fit two homes worth of furniture and stuff into a smaller home. They are good for temporary in case the stuff would be better sold. Also great for emptying a garage which got too full if the homeowner wants to sell. I think these are really good solutions and don't require double handling of what is to be stored. Wonderful post with great information!

Pods have been in use in Las Vegas for awhile. They're real convenient for people here who may work odd hours in our 24-hour town, and it's kind of neat watching them load and unload them from the flat beds!

I've seen PODs around here in Georgia for years.
It's so easy when they bring the storage unit to you!  No truck to rent...   You can take your time loading the unit.  And then they take it away to store for you!  How cool is that???

Hey Gary...  I've noticed that happen with other blogs too.  I'm gonna watch this post for an answer to your question (If there is one.  haha)

Joan, I use a POD last year when we were moving. I suggest to all my seller to use them. Empty the house as much as possible. I have some clients say well that would be an distraction to buyers. I say no way. You can de-clutter your home an pack at the same time. Whether in 200k home or 500k it has not stop one of my sales. Highly recommend they or a similar service.

I've personally been a POD person.  Sounds like a bad horror film but it was a great experience.  I packed most of the boxes and then hired some freelance movers to come and pack the heavy furniture.  Locked it up and away it went.  Two months later I called and had it delivered to my new home.  I was fasinated by the mechanism to load and unload off the truck.  I've had clients use them to declutter and it is great.

Hi Joan - we've been seeing the Pods over in my area for 2-3 years now.  I think they're a very clever solution to the moving needs that we encounter periodically in our business.  What an easy, or so it appears, way to handle the packing and storing/moving!

Congrats on your feature!

Why not consider approaching the POD people to place your advertisement on the side of the box.  What better way to endorse or get exposure about how you can move people then on the side of a POD while it sits in the driveway of someone that is moving.

Just a thought.  Maybe not a very good one, but a thought just the same.

Pods have been here for a couple of years now.  I have known people who remodel and have the POD parked outside their house to store stuff during construction even.  I've been to the website looking at pricing, and it seems fair.  You pay for the pickup and delivery, but the convience value outways it.

There is some kind of Realror discount available.  Your client get a discount if they are referred to them by you.  I believe I signed up for it on their web site (if memory serves me right).

Joan - we just closed one in Reno a few weeks ago where four pods were involved. The owner was so obsessive about the pods that it turned into a running joke.  They made his move much easier, and the laughter from his pod jones was a lot of fun as well.

We used these in our last move, too.  They are amazing!!  First step...used them (Port-a-box company...similar to PODS but cheaper) for staging our home.  Second...once we had a signed around agreement....out it all went 5 boxes at a time.  Not the cheapest but by FAR the least stressful!!  Two thumbs up!!!
