Iron Chef -Bobby Flay at Dave's Marketplace in East Greenwich RI
Oh boy, I was meeting some friends after a home inspection today to meet Bobby Flay. Can you believe it! 
only appearance in New England and He is showing up on my doorstep...so how could I not go to this event. Honestly, I have never waited in line even for a rock concert (always had stage passes) but I was going to wait to meet the Iron Chef himself today.
Now Dave's Marketplace is kind of like RI's Whole Foods market and they have a whole line up of great chefs coming to RI (Emeril Lagasse, the Neelys, Jacques Pepin, Mario Batali). You can tell that someone at Dave's is very well connected with these incredible chefs.
Anyway, I pulled into the parking lot and there wasn't a space an everyone was driving around. The line was a almost a quarter mile long outside the store! Am I crazy...well yeah! A parking space just fell into my drivers lap, parked and trekked on over to the mega wait. My friends were in line and it was incredibly organized, Dave's served appetizers to ALL constantly who waited in line! talk about great customer service!! I bought 2 books for my sis & bro for Christmas which he dedicated to them.
Although it was a 2 hour event, Bobby promised he would stay to sign the books for everyone who waited...we waited 3 hours...can you believe it..totally nuts but he was worth the wait (and there were at least another half hour of Bobby Flay lovers behind me). Smiling and sitting on the side of a table he didn't miss a beat chatting with every person as he signed every book and really carrying on a warm conversation with all. I thanked him for coming to RI for us Bobby Flay fans!! He was so sweet.
Okay now I can't stand up anymore tonight...sayonara...how come noone cooked for me tonight! ...Thanks Bobby Flay for making us Rhode Islanders continued Iron Chef fans. Iron Chef- Bobby Flay at Dave's Marketplace in East Greenwich RI.
