Chicago and Rahm Immanuel keep thinking of ways to drive people out of Chicago raise money to lower it's deficit. Yesterday's great ideas that were suggested were to
- put tolls on Lake Shore Drive during rush hour traffic;
- Tax people who live in the suburb, yet work in the city....they hope to raise a $300,000,000 income because the suburbanites use city services like police (like when they're walking down Michigan Avenue and being attacked by a flash mob); Many people interviewed said that they'd work from home.
- They want to tax goods and legal services for another $450 million;
- A $100 per trash can annual collection fee so that they can raise another $125 million;
We'll see where this goes and how many people change their behavior when new "suggestions" become law. Just last month another major business pulled out of Blue Island to move to Indiana stating that it will save over $500,000 per year on worker's comp costs alone.
Chicago needs their money, but Chicago just doesn't get it!
