Trail of Terror Returns For 17th Annual ScareFest
Are you easily frightened? Does your heart race when you’re in unfamiliar surroundings? Do you watch scary movies with one eye closed through a tiny gap between your fingers? If so, then you may want to avoid one of the area’s most “spook”-tacular attractions this October. Or at least bring a bunch of friends.
Beginning October 1st, Wallingford’s “Trail of Terror” returns once again for its 17th year of providing the best in Halloween chills and thrills to the scare-hungry masses. Just as he’s done since 1994, Wayne Barneschi brings his scare factory to life at its 60 North Plains Highway and promises that there will be many new additions to the already legendary line-up of ghosts, ghouls, devils and demons he’s assembled over the years, including Nightmare Clinic – NC:17 Central Valley Hospital (check out the NC:17 section of their web site by clicking the link). The event’s popularity grows every year, and this year they were again named as Connecticut’s Best Haunted Attraction by Connecticut Magazine.
In addition to the October 1st opening date, the Trail will be open for all four weekends in October as per the following schedule:
October 7, 8, 14, 15, 21, 22, 28,& 29: Open 7 PM til 11 PM
October 9, 16, 23, & 30: Open 7 PM til 10 PM
Tickets are $10 for general admission and are available only at the Trail, or you can opt to purchase a Speed Pass for $20 which allows you to purchase a specific time slot to avoid waiting in the notoriously long lines that form fast each night. Speed Passes can be purchased by phone by calling 1-888-695-0888, or online by clicking this link
. Here are some other links to check out:
Keep in mind that the Trail can sell out fast, sometimes as early as 8 PM, so if you’re planning to buy your ticket there you should plan on arriving early to avoid missing out. Once again this year, all proceeds will benefit the
Wallingford Emergency Shelter’s Family Center, as well as other local charities, so you’re not only having a screaming good time, you’re helping a worthy cause to boot. So, if you’ve never had the time (or the guts) to visit the Trail, make this the year you do it.
Oh, and Shotgun John says to make sure to bring a screamer with you…he LOVES screamers...
