Tim Harris on Real Estate

Real Estate TrainingThis Friday, September 30th, at 9AM, REOPro's Jesse Gonzalez will be interviewing Tim Harris of Harris Real Estate University on the REO industry. I HIGHLY recommend you bookmark this link and attend, and here's why:

Tim Harris knows what he's talking about: he's well-connected in the industry, has tons of experience, thousands of students from the University, and he's made it his business to know where Real Estate is going before it gets there.

So when Tim talks, people listen: myself especially. For the last month, I've been doing some Search Engine Optimization work for Harris University, and part of that job involves reviewing what he's published over the past few months in order to optimize it for the web. The SEO part is boring, but reading his blog has been downright chilling.

Tim's not a pessimist, but he is a realist, and the changes in Real Estate that he's talking about are real, pervasive, and affect the entire industry. Tim cites NAR statistics that indicate, for instance, that "20% of all Real Estate agents may leave the industry this year." That's big - and if fits with what I've seen.

What about "today's real-estate market is worst now than it was during the Great Depression? Equally big, equally chilling. He's not a doomsayer: just talking about what we're all seeing.

- Agents start doing REO because they can't sell.
- Agents start doing BPO's because they can't sell REO.
- Agents leave the business because the BPO market's saturated.

That's the pattern that I've seen, and it's what Tim's been talking about as well. Pretty hardcore stuff, and you can't simply dodge the issue if you intend to make a living in Real Estate.

So listen up: I'm not being compensated in any way to write this, and I don't personally have anything to gain from it, but as somebody who's spent the last month going through his material I can tell you that he's on top of this issue.

Part of the reason for this interview is for the launch of Agent REO Secrets, and that's good, because it's time for a mainstream Real Estate professional to finally start offering a consistent coaching/training program for REO. I know that others have done it, but Harris Real Estate University is a pretty reputable organization, which is something that REO needs right now.

The other part of this interview is because Tim shares tips, tricks, and advice from his own experience, his contacts, and from his students. That's something else that I've come away with - some excellent points on HOW TO SURVIVE TODAY'S MARKET. That's capitalized because it's really important.

Truth be told, the knowledge is lost on me because I'm not a Realtor, but you will benefit from it, so at least give the guy a few minutes to educate you on the trends, provide some advice, and offer some solutions.

So I am saying this: you don't have to buy the man's product if it doesn't fit, but listen to the interview! It's important.
