Competitive Surf Dogs-Canines That Is

Seriously, there are competitive surf dogs (of the 4-legged canine variety) who are out there riding the waves and raising money to support charities benefitting their furry friends.

You can see the video below of a recent competition in Del Mar, Calif. showcasing the talent. The Surf Dog Surf-A-Thon welcomed 4,000 spectators, 80 dogs, and raised more than $100,000 for orphaned animals.

Canine surfers are popular in Southern California, although I'm sure some Silicon Valley pups would love to give them a "run for the money" if given a chance.

This brings a whole new meaning to the term "Dogtown."
