Time Marches On.....We either use it or waste it! I'd love to hear some ideas that work for you on being effective.

Some of my favorites are:

Just Say "No"!

Don't Multi-task! Focus on 1 goal!

Do, Delegate, Dump or File for the Future

Anything that can be done in 2 minutes or less should be done immediately!

Block Time For Important/ Not Urgent

Asking,"What is the highest and best use of my time RIGHT NOW!"

Giving up worrying

I could write an entire post on each of these, but I'd love to hear your take on it!!!!

I follow simple rules, too:

Get up early (no sleeping in).

Follow my schedule (don't deviate).

Turn off my phone at 7 PM (take time for myself).

As long as I do these three things every day, I sleep well at night.

I'm sure you've heard the saying "Early to bed, early to rise, makes a man(woman) healthy, wealthy, and wise.  These are words that I live by.

Mary- You got it!!! Smart lady. They say feelings are like the tides...they come and go! You can't wait until you "feel" like it! And besides, once you just get things done, you've freed up time to say, "Next!" :>)

Kathy You are right and I am practicing to get better-I am way to long-winded sometimes!

Doug Yep! I've also heard it said, "You should swallow the toad quickly instead of looking at it all day!"

Elizabeth Great rules for living and sleeping is a VERY good thing :>) Thanks for coming by

I use a "Dollar Productive Worksheet" every day.  I use it to keep my day in order and to stay on top of my day by focusing on the most productive tasks first.  By keeping this worksheet with me where ever I am...it  causes me not to waste time thus making me more productive and allowing me to sell even more real estate.

I have three lists each and every day.

1) Has to be done

2) Needs to be done

3) Should be done

I just work my way down the first list, then go to the second list and then the third. If I don't get done with the third, they move up to #2 list the next day. But I cannot ignore list one!

  1. Top 10 Transactions that need my attention to place them under contract or work on closing details.
  2. Top 10 list that requires follow up with buyers, potential sellers and my current listing clients to assist them to get them preapproved, listed or negotiating and hopefully place them on the top 10 transaction list within a day or two.
  3. A grid of 100 boxes, I track every phone call each day with a goal of completing 100 calls per day.

Todd  Wise man you are for prioritizing. It amazes me how busy people can get with non-dollar productive activities and then wonder why nothing is happening!!!!

Sam Wow! What a great way to KNOW exactly what you need to do every day! I bet it pays off well for you. Thanks for sharing this with everyone!!!

Kathy Your comment is really on target. The best agents take all the ideas and then distill into what suits them best!!! The main thing is to keep upping your standards and getting better and better at what you do.

I think I need to print these out and post them on the wall at work so I can remember them.  Thanks!

I like Sam's Dollar Productive Worksheet idea. I don't have a worksheet, but I try to follow the same method. I do things that will make me money first and then the rest (filing, ugh!) later.

Valarie Smart idea! Keeping things visible is a great way to keep them in existance and remember! I write my top 3 priorities on a post-it and keep it in front of me all day :>) Thanks for visiting and posting!

Rebecka Smart woman! Or a coach might tell you to delegate the filing! What is YOUR time worth per hour? Pay someone to do the administrative stuff so you can do the dollar productive stuff!!! Thanks for your comments

My best tip is organization - There is no way I could get done as much as I do if I were not organized.
