The Google Wallet
You guys may or may not know this but our currency wasn't always papered bills. Now I'm just kidding but of course you all knew that, since every American I know tries to get money the best way they can (well at least I do). So some of the different types of currency were the bartering of animals, precious metals, cowry shells, barley, and beads. As time passed the U.S. came up with the papered money system. Which soon became checks, then credit/debit cards, computer payments, and now the tap as you go method.
Now let's get straight to it, the Google Wallet is an Android app that makes your phone your virtual wallet. It stores virtual versions of your existing plastic cards right on your phone. All you have to do is tap your phone to pay and redeem offers using nearby field communication or NFC. The Google Wallet was specifically designed for an open commerce ecosystem. Pretty soon the Google Wallet will be holding all of the cards you have in your wallet today. And since Google Wallet is a mobile app, you can do more than a regular wallet, you can store thousands of payment cards and Google Offers but without taking all your pocket and phone space.
In no time your loyalty cards, gift cards, receipts, boarding passes, tickets, even your keys will be effortlessly synced to your Google Wallet. Every offer and loyalty point can be redeemed every time you tap via NFC. But hold on before you get to excited the Google Wallet is only available on the Nexus S 4G which is by Google, available only by sprint. Eventually Google plans on having the Google Wallet on all Smartphones. You can pay using a Citi Card, MasterCard, or a Google prepaid card. Just tap to pay at almost any store near you. To see which stores are available around you click this link! As the saying goes, "tap, pay, then save". Also take a look below to see what the process actually looks like!
I'm hoping that everyone found this useful, but also I want it to be a warning. Because I have a feeling in a few years this is going to be very popular in super markets, malls, gas stations, and etc. We all ready know that Google is taking over the world but before we know it the Google Wallet will be taking over each and every one of us!
