Local Solar Power Homes Open For Public Tours In San Diego, California Communities.
More
than a dozen solar-powered homes are opening their doors to the public
on Saturday -10-1-2011 to highlight the latest in sun-powered
innovation and economic savings.
The self
guided tour, at mostly residential properties from Ocean Beach to Poway
is put on by the nonprofit San Diego Renewable Energy Society with
support from homeowners and business sponsors. The locations also
feature grid-tied solar applications for commercial spaces.
Experts in solar technology, installations and financing will be
available among the 16 sites. For addresses, maps and more details,
visit sdres.org/solartour. The tour includes a promotion for the
Boundless Energy children's exhibit at the Birch Aquarium in La Jolla.
Solar Tour programs, distributed at each site includes a flier good for
two for one admission to the aquarium.
With dropping solar module costs and rising energy cost, there is much
more of an economic incentive. Today's 10A.M, to 2P.M. tour is part of
early October 2011 home tours across the country organized the the
American Solar Energy Society.
