Warren Buffett has made similar comments about his opinions on financial success. It's true that relying on your past experience may be useless if you're facing a situation you've never encountered before.

Hi Eric, Nice to see you again. A lot of successful people have made similar comments, they are good comments & something we need to recognize. Doesn't mean we have to like everything they do or represent. History is always important, it is the lesson we gleen from it that is important. Nothing is cast in concrete.

J. Paul Getty has some great advice. I guess I didn't know that he had failed marriages. I guess it goes back to money not buying happiness.

Amen. I'd take my advice from J Paul Getty over the media anyday. We don't want experience to stop us from being progressive but then experience can be good to keep us from making the same silly mistakes.

There is a lot to learn from history. If we listen to the successful, they do have good advice. Of course they are human and have sailed through troubled waters, like all of us. No, lots of Money does not buy happiness. Unfortunately the very wealthy never really know if they are loved for themselves or their money. If you read about Getty, or just read his quotes, he had great advice for success & he was honest about his failures. True success is about finding the right balance.
