Creamland ~ One Last Taste of the Season

Creamland

October 2nd and temperature is hovering in mid-40's.  It's threatening to pour any minute, but I just had to stop at Creamland for one last taste before the summer season ends.

What's your favorite ice cream treat?  Mine is orange sherbert and vanilla yogurt twist.

Hi, Mary -- mid 40s?  wow -- we are still in the 90s here (although the long range forecast calls for the 80s as we move further into this week).  I love the signage by the way -- a very cool, throw-back sign to the past.  It conjures up a lot of memories.
Have a wonderful Autumn.   Eric ^0-0^

Hello Eric--Yes, I think Creamland is close to celebrating 50 years in same location.  What a celebration that will be.  Enjoy your warm weather.

Ronald--I could use some of your warm/hot weather, but we have a long wait until next summer.  Thanks for stopping.

Orange sherbet and vanilla yogurt sounds very refreshing. My favorite used to be a scoop of coffee ice cream and a scoop of orange sherbet. Now I like apple pie and a few others.  It's cool here in Delaware; in the low 50s and a bit rainy. Enjoy your fall.

Hi JoAnn--I love coffee ice cream, too.  I can't remember having apple pie flavored ice cream.  Thanks for visiting this afternoon.

Patricia--Oh yes, but I prefer to defer those thoughts.  I took the last pictures early January.  Temp was probably mid 20's.  Ugh!

Grace--Yes, I enjoy orange sherbert & vanilla yogurt twist.  Yummy!

Hi Mary...mid 40's already..wow. This is one of the reasons I love the Pacific NW! Today was in the mid 60's and last week we were having some gorgeous weather in the 80's..sigh. To me..there is nothing like a rocky road in a sugar cone in the summer although that brownie one would be one to try..chocolate..YUM.

Oh my, Cindy, now I want another cone, but Creamland is closed for the season.  Guess I will just make some popcorn.

Thanks for stopping in from the NW.  Tomorrow is supposed to be mid 50's.  Can't wait.

Mary, I'm so glad you got your "last taste of the season" over at Creamland! That's one good thing about living in California...our ice cream season never ends! :)

I've never heard of an ice cream store closing down just because of cold or snow. Interesting. I eat ice cream 365 days a year. Always have, even when I lived in Detroit, Philadelphia, Cincinnati, Cleveland, and Columbus. Yes, very interesting.

My favorite is strawberries and cream, but it's hard to find that nowadays, so I revert to my second favorite, cookies and cream. And there is nothing like Bluebell ice cream from Texas. Unfortunately, we don't have Bluebell here. The closets is Yuma, Arizona, so my second favorite is Dryers.

Happy Monday!

Leilani--I wish ours did not end either, but dreams are good, too.

Russel--Many of the ice cream stands in this area have no inside facility for customers.  We stand outside to order and just hang around talking to fellow ice cream lovers as we lick our cones.  That might not be too much fun in 20 degree weather when the snow is up to our knees.  Seriously we do have places to get ice cream year-round, but w/o the nostalgia of an old-fashion ice cream stand.

The past weekends weather was certainly miserable and seemed more like December. However, this week is supposed to be back in the 70's so maybe you can get a chance to go back one more time.

Dan--I certainly agree with you about the weekend.  Rest of week sounds better . . . Pittsburgh is south so it should be even warmer there.  I am looking forward to meeting you.
