Wow, this is really amazing. I am here in Seattle & RedFin has mostly behaved here. this is the first I have heard of this. Scouting reports? What has that got to do with Redfin helping clients buy or sell homes. Bad infomation is never ok. I will check to see if they do this here as well & if they do, I will be contacting them myself as well.
Cynthia, Fight on! I have called both our association and our MLS. The MLS basically said they are not giving info directly to Redfin.... what does that mean? They said they do not give roster info but that Redfin can take info off of the MLS. What about all the short sales that fall through? Do those count for or against us? And most of the time it is the banks fault that it falls apart.
A similar type system was rolled out by StreetEasy.com in the NYC region recently. However, as a listing platform and not a broker, they are relying on information provided to them by the agents that advertise on the site (virtually every listing in Manhattan would be there and agents can "claim" the transaction if they were the buyer's rep). It's an interesting concept, but to be honest, I'm not entirely excited about it.
Wow, how did you notice this in the first place? Were you on Redfin or did someone send you a link? All CA agents should be paying attention to this post
Wow Cynthia, feisty and I like that! Go get em girl! Great Post!
Redfin has pulled the plug on the Scouting Report -- everywhere...
Sounds like you are winning and that sounds great. I don't even know Redfin but, hopefullly, Wilmington is too small potatoes for them and I won't have to learn more. One less thing to worry about works for me.
Goof for you
Hi Cynthia - Great alert and Kudos to you for tackeling it head on. I always figured I could get clients to ignore REDFIN and their counterparts by pointing out a few erroneous things on there to clients - but if they are publishing false information about me I might never get that chance.
Way to go!

Hi Cynthia - read this here:

Well I was going to call my MLS provider and jump on the bandwagon, but Jay took with wind out of my sails.
Good for you. Redfin losses again
So glad this is over with. I work with a team so I don't get any credit for the work I have done
Good for you for not letting this just slip by without putting up a fight! I hope you, and others, can make Redfin behave.
Wow, Cynthia! I just found out about this from reading Praful's post where he linked to your post here! Good for you!!!!!!!! If there is anything I can do for support say the word!
Update - I just went to their Scouting Report link and saw they've pulled it down. Couldn't be happier!
Sounds like Redfin handles information about as well as the three credit bureaus!!!! LOL
I came to the Redfin party late, but it certainly did ruffle some feathers. I don't think they had it in our area, but I guess I'll never know at this point :-) Kasey
Cynthia way to go in fighting this group. I'm not very familiar with them, but everything I've ready has been disturbing. Please keep us updated on your progress. I hope you puruse a lawsuit!!!
Great job Cynthia. This is a business model doomed to fail. We've had others come and go in this market and they are fun to watch.
Wow, good for you! I don't think Redfin represents Florida at this time, so most of what I hear about them is on blogs and news sites like Inman, and obviously most of it is negative from agents. I would also have been upset about the data being wrong, and I'm glad you put up a fight.
