Paying It Forward – Donating Shoes for Soles4Souls

Every October, the Lewisburg United Methodist Church observes Children’s Sabbath, and selects a mission project that adults and children can work on together to make the world a better place. This past Sunday
The Lewisburg United Methodist Church has started a shoe drive to benefit Soles4Souls collection. Doing the service, the congregation was asked to donate shoes. The shoes will be sent to an impoverished area where shoes are a luxury.

As partners for the shoe charity, Lewisburg United Methodist Church and Soles4Souls, Inc., challenges others to become a force of change by helping the charity cater to the evolving needs of the global community.
Soles4Souls, Inc. has committed to collect and distribute shoes to people living in extreme poverty and recovering from natural disasters.

My husband and I went through our shoes and donated 12 pairs of shoes today to the church for Soles4Souls, and added one dollar for each pair of shoes for shipping.

Donating shoes is one of the most simple yet profound acts you can do, because it will greatly improve someones's life in the most difficult of times.

What a great feeling and joy of putting shoes on the feet of children and adults across the world. Please take this opportunity and help change a child's or an adult's life. I counted over 50 pairs of shoes in my closet... and to think some children and adults have never had a pair of shoes on their feet.

Please bring new or gently worn shoes of all types, styles, and sizes to the Lewisburg United Methodist Church

October 1 through October 31

Put the shoes together with string or rubber bands (no shoe boxes please). If possible, donate $1 per pair of shoes to help with shipping costs.

Rebecca, what a mighty fine thing the Lewisburg United Methodist Church is doing to help folks to have shoes. I'm sure not at all surprised to read that you and your husband went through your shoes in order to donate to Soles4Souls, y'all are mighty caring folks. I sure do hope that many many more folks bring many shoes to donate to this here mighty fine cause.
